Calvary joined forces with the
West Shore Regional Police Dept. in August, 2011 to celebrate National Night Out. NNO is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is the nation’s largest, annual crime prevention event in the country. It involves over 36 million people in 15,000 different communities from all fifty states.
It happens on the first Tuesday each August. The event gives individuals, cities, law enforcement agencies, neighborhood groups and community organizations the opportunity to come out and get to know one another. Common celebrations include block parties, cookouts, parades, festivals, visits from local police, potlucks, youth events and safety exhibits.
Participants, whether they be neighborhoods, police departments or other organizations, are passionate about National Night Out!
The night is designed to:
*Heighten crime prevention awareness;
*Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
*Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and;
*Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

is open every third Saturday between the hours of 11am and 1pm. The next closet will be Saturday, March 16th, and the clothing is free. Almost all sizes of clothing for men, women and children are available. We also have some dress clothing such as sport coats, suits, etc. for those who may need something for job interviews. We would also love to help you recycle your clean and gently used clothing, which is accepted at the church by calling the church office at 717-737-6921 or get in touch with Gwyn Richards at 717-761-4841. We are always in need of infant clothing and now would like to accept fall and winter clothing.
